We're excited to share this inspirational guest blog from Jessica Millar, new mom & yogi! Jessica's passion is helping women find peace and strength through yoga - and to that we say, namaste!
Let’s talk about gaining weight in pregnancy!! A healthy weight to gain during pregnancy is around 30 pounds, but if you’re worried about it.. don’t be!! Remember... you’re growing a human! And to be completely honest with you, I’ve gained more weight this pregnancy than I have in my others and I’m definitely over that 30 mark. Everyone’s body is totally different. But if you’re worried about your weight, here are a few things to remember
- Don’t compare! We should never do this anyways. When we compare ourselves to others it can bring us down and discourage us. That is the last thing we need right now. If you choose to compare, then do it in a positive way. Find individuals who motivate you, make you feel good about yourself, and who push you to become better!
-Love and Embrace this time. You won’t be pregnant forever, you’re SO lucky to be pregnant, and this may be the only time (or one of the few times) in your life that you will ever experience something as magical as this.
- Change your perspective. Remember how important it is to stay healthy for that little human, but don’t be too hard on yourself! Do you best, and by doing your best you will find endless confidence. Your body is going to change and you will gain weight regardless. Growing this human is your first priority. Remember to do what’s best for yourself and your baby.
- And remember... you’re doing a great job!
