what materials are used for Nursing Bras products?

We carefully chose the material for our nursing bras to ensure they're comfortable and irritation-free! Our B.D.A. Bra and Bandita Nursing Bra are both made from 92% nylon and 8% spandex. The Active Support Nursing Bra is designed using a quick-dry, moisture-wicking performance fabric. The body content is 70% nylon, 30% spandex, and the mesh content is 84% nylon and 16% spandex.

How are Belly Bandit nursing bras different?

The best pumping and nursing bras are multifunctional, and that's what we keep in mind when designing our bras. What does this mean? First of all, comfort, wide straps, and bottoms so you can comfortably wear our bras throughout the day and night. We also choose fabrics that stretch and recover to accommodate your changing breast size. And finally, all of our bras can be worn during pregnancy and happily ever after.

What are the best nursing bras?

The best nursing bras are ones that make breastfeeding easy! Yes, juggling a baby and bra can be tricky. So, using a pull-over version like our B.D.A. Nursing Bra or an easy one-hand release like the ones found in our Bandita and Active Bras make a big difference.

Do you really need nursing bras?

In a word, YES! The first reason, easy access. When breastfeeding, the last thing you need to be doing is struggling with your bra. Also, many nursing bras come with modesty shields for women who don't want to expose themselves. Also, breastfeeding can be messy, so keep your regular bras in the drawer (you'll get back to them soon enough!) and use your nursing bras while breastfeeding.

How do I choose a nursing bra?

Look for bras that are made from comfortable, grow-with-you material as your breast size will change during pregnancy and postpartum.

Can you sleep in a nursing bra?

Yes! In fact, our B.D.A. Bra is perfect for nighttime feedings.

How many nursing bras do I need?

We often get the question, how many nursing bras do I need? Our answer is a minimum of three…one to wash, one to wear, and one at the ready!

When should you start wearing nursing bras?

Most women start wearing maternity/nursing bras when they begin to notice their breasts starting to change. This usually happens around the end of the first trimester into the second trimester.

What's the difference between a maternity bra and a nursing bra?

Maternity bras and nursing bras can be the same. Many women like wearing their nursing bras during pregnancy, so they don't have to buy both types. The difference is that a maternity bra is designed to support your growing breasts and won't have a clasp for nursing. Nursing bras work best when they provide easy access to aid with breastfeeding as well as support.

Can I wear nursing bras when pregnant?

Yes, many women start wearing nursing bras when they've outgrown their regular bras.

Can you use a nursing bra for pumping?

Yes. Find one that's comfortable and makes attaching the breast pump flanges as easy as possible. You might also want to look for a hand-free nursing bra.

How do you determine your nursing bra size?

Since your breast size is changing (often rapidly), it can be hard to determine size. But, the standard guide is to add one cup and one back size. So, if you're a 32A, you'll want to look for a 34C in a nursing bra.
