Here at Belly Bandit HQ, the fight against breast cancer is a very personal one.
That's why throughout October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re donating a portion of proceeds from our 'Don’t Sweat It' Bra Liners, Nursing Bras and Nursing Tanks to the Shades of Pink Foundation. This amazing charity is dedicated to providing assistance to women who are experiencing financial distress as a result of a breast cancer diagnosis.
Of course, there are many other ways you can help in the fight against breast cancer. Here are a few ideas:
Fundraise!
-
Girl's Night: Host a girl's night with your girlfriends. It's a great way to spend time together and raise money. You can all do manicures, pedicures, and other spa features. Invite a few of your girlfriends to join you for the night. You can charge your friends a small fee to participate and accept donations throughout the night.
-
Pink Party: Host a Pink Party and invite your family and friends. Make sure all your decorations, dress code, and food are pink! Charge a small admission fee and accept donations throughout the night.
-
Donate Your Locks: Donating your hair to organizations such as Locks of Love is an incredibly simple way to show support and help the many cancer survivors and fighters.
Fundraising as a business
Walkathon: Exercise and raise money at the same time! Ask participants to secure donation pledges ****on the distance they are able to walk. Make sure the walkathon offers items such as t-shirts, and food. Plan around the weather.
Karaoke Night Fundraiser: Partner with a local bar or restaurant to host a karaoke night. Get equipment donated and make sure the event is promoted well. Charge the cover for the night and encourage attendees to vote with dollars.
Office Pink Day: Schedule an office pink day and award your best-dressed employees with sunglasses, coolers, and products customized with a breast cancer awareness message.
Volunteer
There are many non-profit organizations focused on breast cancer volunteer opportunities. Consider donating your time to a non-profit, manpower and brain power is just as important and monetary donations.
