Here at Belly Bandit HQ, a women-owned and operated company, we believe in celebrating the success of all women in business👏! Our “Moms Who Made It” series is our way of honoring Mompreneurs who inspire us every day.
This week we're thrilled to be featuring Jessica Rolph, co-founder, and CEO of Lovevery. Jessica, a founding partner of Happy Family Brands parlayed her experience into the creation of Lovevery, a company that's dedicated to "playtime with purpose."
The Play Gym by Lovevery includes everything you need for your baby’s first year of play - from batting to teething to learning to focus - now that's genius!
Describe your business philosophy in 5 words:
Be humble and always hustle.
What inspired you to go into business?
My 3 children! I am passionate children’s health and learning. As founding partner @happyfamily, I fought to keep toxins out of babies’ bodies. And then I started thinking, what are we doing to nourish our babies’ brains? I discovered a doctoral thesis on infant brain development that had all these detailed, nerdy, cool things that I could do with my baby. It felt really natural and simple and I never looked at our toys the same again. @loveverybaby our mission is to help parents feel confident they are giving their baby the best experiences to become their full selves.
When did you know you, “made it?”
I don’t think I will ever feel like I “made it”, there is so much to do and be in this short life! But I did have a moment a few years back when I was on a playground somewhere and saw our puffs spilled on the ground - I would know that shape anywhere! I am always amazed that people I don’t know actually buy our products.
Who is your mentor?
Lynda Resnick is a self-made billionaire and branding genius with a huge heart. Having someone you admire believe in you is huge.
What's your #1 tip for moms interested in business
Try to strip the emotion out of it (so so incredibly hard when you’re pursuing your dream). Just take that next baby step… breaking the daunting inevitable problems into little incremental to-dos. If I wait until I’m feeling optimistic and inspired to work on my business, days and weeks go by without any progress.
What does “me” time mean to you?
Hot yoga, chocolate, and kombucha
What‘s on your bedside table?
The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz, Beyond the Messy Truth by Van Jones, Project Drawdown by Paul Hawkin. And always...The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
