Here at Belly Bandit HQ, a women-owned and operated company, we believe in celebrating the success of all women in business! Our “Moms Who Made It” series is our way of honoring Mompreneurs who inspire us every day.
This week we are thrilled to be featuring Gena Mann, co-founder of the Wolf + Friends app. This social connection app was created to help moms raising children with special needs connect with one another in a judgement-free space. Members create support systems with like-minded moms who can understand and relate to their unique parenting challenges, 🙌.
Describe your business philosophy in 5 words:
Modern, Inclusive, Judgement-free, Community, Kindness
What inspired you to go into business?
Being a special needs mom can be isolating, depressing, and uninspiring (I know fro personal experience). We wanted to change that reality for the millions of families raising children with special needs like autism, ADHD, sensory processing issues and developmental delays by creating a trusted, Go-To app for special needs moms to find other moms who “get it”, shop for stylish toys, decor and clothing for their kids and to get tips from experts they can trust.
When did you know you, “made it?”
I’m not sure we’ve “made it” yet, but being in People Magazine was pretty cool:)
What’s your #1 tip for moms interested in starting their own business?
Make sure you are filling a need and that you are really passionate about what you are doing because starting a business is expensive, stressful, + a grind!
What does “me” time mean to you?
Eating a meal I didn’t cook.
What‘s on your bedside table?
I just finished Educated. It was amazing.
