Describe your business philosophy in 5 words:

“Be passionate”

What inspired you to start your business?

When I gave birth to our first daughter in The Netherlands, I received this awesome free pregnancy gift box with products & offers to celebrate a new life. A few years later our second daughter was born in NYC. I was surprised that there was not similar service here. Together with two European friends we decided to start Noobie Box and bring this beautiful experience to pregnant women in the US.

When did you know you, “made it?”

When did you know you, “made it?” We are working on “making it” every day! We currently ship 1000 Noobie Boxes each month. This means that we spoil 1000 new moms and their babies with a free pregnancy gift box that supports them through the critical first days, weeks and months of motherhood.

Who is your mentor?

I have plenty of mentors, my Noobie Box partners among them. We complement each and value each other’s differences. On my own -without them- I would have never been able to realize Noobie Box. For all new mompreneurs, I wish they also find such a great partners. Do it together!

What's your #1 tip for moms interested in starting their own business

Talk to other entrepreneurs and business people and lean on them for advice and assistance – don’t reinvent the wheel.

What does “me” time mean to you?

As for every mom with young kids (and a business), me-time is limited. I learned to enjoy the little moments; the first coffee in the morning, a quick chat with a friend, a short run in the park or a glass of wine with my husband.

What‘s on your bedside table?

A pile of books and magazines I have every intention of reading. On top of it now “Never Eat Alone” from Keith Ferrazzi about the power of networking.

Words to live by - Share you favorite quote!

“Focus on the good” Not sure if this is a real quote, but it is what I (try to) do every day.
