I was extremely upset the first time trying these on 5 days post op. I could not get them on. In time my swelling went down and I was able to squeeze myself in them. The design I've found has been great to stay away from my cesarean cut, but it doesn't give any support to my lower stomach. The top part also doesn't lay well do to my torso length I'm guessing.. I'll be purchasing another band to try to get everything pushed back.
The first day was amazing I loved these but the longer I wore them the more I noticed they were actually pushing my stomach down so my stomach began to hang lower than before I started wearing these and that is because they are constantly falling down and mine fit perfectly, I bought a different paid with straps like a bra and within two days of wearing it I noticed my stomach was no longer dropping as much.
I don't typically write reviews, but I am constantly looking for reviews from people who are built more like me. I am 5'4" and curvy with hips and a butt. Pre pregnancy, I was 145 pounds wearing a 4-6, but I gained a lot of weight and went up to 195. It made looking at size charts very difficult. I am a week postpartum via c-section and I am still very swollen and full of fluid. The scale still says 189. I am currently wearing and BREATHING in the LARGE c-section shorts with the Luxe Bamboo wrap on top. They are giving good compression and allowing me to move a little bit better. I was able to pee thru the gusset which was a big concern for me. It is definitely a 2 hand job and you should probably also say a quick prayer and hope that you done wet yourself. So, I have compression where needed, can pee when needed, and can still breathe. Works for me!
For some background, I am 5’6”, 170 lbs., and 3 weeks post-partum with my second c-section. I ordered the large in these, but probably should have ordered the XL. These fit me well in the ‘shorts’ area, but the upper ‘corset’ area is so dang tight, I could BARELY get the hooks closed. I had loads of extra belly skin spilling out the middle (especially when I laid down; standing up and putting these on in front of a mirror was the only way). It took me about ten minutes to get these on initially. Once they were on, they definitely held my belly pooch in more than anything else I had tried. Last c-section, I used the corset top c-section panties from Belly Bandit and the panties were so narrow in the back that they fit me like a thong (thanks, pear shaped body!) so these shorts are a MUCH better fit if you have wider hips / butt. My back fat definitely spilled out the top of these under my bra band, so I had to pull the bra band down to cover the top of these c-section shorts so I wouldn’t have that little strip of fat busting out. Once I did that, these looked great. It’s easy to sit, stand, etc in these. They do a great job of lifting the ‘c shelf’ for anyone whose belly hangs over their scar. What I like the *least* about these is the gusset for going to the bathroom. The gusset is TINY. Maybe a couple inches long, at best, and the sides overlap each other by a couple inches, so you definitely need both hands to spread the gusset apart enough to pee. However, peeing with both hands in between my legs led to a big ole mess, and I successfully peed all over the gusset and the legs of the shorts, requiring me to take them off completely. If you own a stadium pal or some other tool that allows you to pee standing up in the wilderness, that would be the only way I could imagine peeing through this gusset without peeing all over the shorts. If the gusset was longer front to back— and if the sides of the gusset didn’t overlap as much— I could have easily opened the gusset with one hand and stayed dry (I’ve used gussets before successfully; this one is just Fort Knox!). Overall, it was worth the purchase for the way it streamlines my belly under my clothes and the feeling of holding everything in; but I’m really not a fan of trying to pee in these, and haven’t yet figured it out.
It is a good support post c-section delivery and the quality is amazing. However, when you need to use a restroom it can be a lot of work. I have a suggestion, Instead of hooks zipper can help😊.
