Here at Belly Bandit HQ, a women-owned and operated company, we believe in celebrating the success of all women in business! Our “Moms Who Made It” series is our way of honoring Mompreneurs who inspire us every day.
This week we're thrilled to be featuring Angela Edgeworth, founder of pediped®, the award-winning children’s footwear brand. After the birth of her first daughter, Angela started thinking about creating comfortable, stylish shoes that promoted healthy foot development. After lots of research, Angela introduced pediped®, the "next best thing to bare feet”.

Describe your business philosophy in 5 words:

Ready, Set Go!

What inspired you to start your business?

My daughter was only a few months old when we started looking for footwear.  We couldn't find exactly what we wanted so we designed a few shoes, made some prototypes and went from there.

When did you know you, “made it?”

I'm not sure you ever think you 'made it', because it's all about the work and development.  I find it most rewarding reading about our customers' experiences with our products.  It brings me joy to see that we made a difference in their lives, albeit, just footwear.

Who is your mentor?

I have many mentors.  They are my friends and colleagues.  I am inspired by every day people and try to learn something new from everyone I meet.  Everyone has a unique gift to offer.  Look for traits in people you would like to achieve, for example, organization, integrity, creativity.  I am inspired by people I work with and see on a daily basis.

What's your #1 tip for moms interested in starting their own business

It's more work than you will imagine and will be more difficult than many challenges you've faced.  However, if you are willing to dedicate the time and energy, you can do it!

What does “me” time mean to you?

I love spending time with my kids, that's my favorite 'me' time.
